Weight Family Top 10 for 2016

Weight Family 2016 Top Ten List

10. New Address. Yes we finally made a big move…. Five houses down the street.
Come and visit!
9. Cami (12 almost 13) has been taking computer classes at the college and has loved learning JavaScript, python, html, soldering, and other super random but awesome skills. Cami is in 7th grade and keeps busy with the student government and show choir… and hasn’t gotten lower than an A in any class yet….and still reads like 10-15 ginormous books every week. She is working on writing a book called "The Forgotton Children" and we all really want to know what happens next.
8. Taryn (11) has excelled at sewing and can now sew stuff using real patterns (not kiddy ones). She is in 5th grade and keeps busy with student government. She takes modern dance and creates amazing crafts. She reads like a banshee with her current favorite series being “The Selection.” She too took some coding classes at the college last summer.
7. Jocelyn (7) has lost a boat load of teeth (like 10 with 2 more lose) and loves to read as much as if not more than her sisters which is a huge accomplishment. She is in 1st grade and loves it. She loves it enough that we caught her texting her teacher over Thanksgiving break because she missed her. She loves it enough that she prays for more homework. She is a fun kid and always surprises us with more fun!
6. Creed (4 almost 5) is fast fast fast on anything with wheels or that can be climbed. He has survived several bike wrecks with only a minor concussion and knocking two teeth back into his mouth (which Amy saved by cramming them back into the right place) and one trip to the ER. Despite all that he still loves jumping curbs on his bike. Creed is in preschool and we really hope he sits and listens when he’s supposed to. He loves his new buddies there. His favorite thing is being outside helping Brent with projects. He follows him around “helping” by moving all of his tools around. He is still completely fixated on garbage trucks but has spread his interests to anything large with an engine (fire trucks, bulldozers, cement mixers, car carriers, fighter jets, maglev trains, cranes, dump trucks, etc….)
5. The summer was made of swimming, swimming and more swimming thanks to the pool that came with our house. Jocelyn seriously believes she is part mermaid and the others are amazing in the pool too…they still all have tan lines. We don’t know how we survived living here without one.  We also visited northern Utah several times to play with cousins, check out museums, and hit the mall with H&M (Taryn’s request since she still LOVES “fashion” and we love her...)
4. Brent keeps busy with all his businesses and loves the variety. They are working on completing a new product funded by the NIH. During October he attended a conference in California and we all tagged along to play at Harry Potter World, Legoland, the beach, Balboa Park, swim at the hotel, and visit old town museums.
3. Brent is also crazy busy with lots of church responsibilities. And he has really enjoyed doing more house projects now that he has a house he is responsible for again. He’s built shelving, installed a pool cover, broken out cement, installed several pipes, run electrical wires, and his list of things to do keeps growing.  It’s kind of amazing how much he can get done in a day.
2. Not sure how or why, but Brent is just finishing up his first kids book, titled “Walrus Kisses are Scratchy”…It might be his last. He got the idea from putting kids to bed. He hoped to have it self-published by now, but is trying to iron out some page layout issues with the Illustrator.  Be looking for it on Amazon starting in February.
1. Amy keeps up carpools, volunteers in classrooms, volunteers as the PTA health and safety vice president, keeps everyone fed, alive, and has a stash of band aids ready for Creed. She also has maintained her RN license by completing all the continuing education required. Amy works with the kids at church again and that is her happy place.
We love you all and hope this finds you happy healthy and remembering that we think you are a rock star!
