Weight Family Reunion 2015...Aspen Groves Style

So just for the record family camps are the best vacation ever.....

A couple of years ago the Weights started planning a big family reunion for the 50th wedding anniversary of Brent's parents. We needed some place close enough so his mom could still go get her dialysis and with amenities so we all didn't have to be responsible for meals and cleaning (not super fun on a vacation). Aspen grove is literally like 20 minutes from their house. It is a family camp with groups for all ages with appropriate crafts, games, swimming etc. There were climbing walls and ropes courses and a swimming pool and pottery classes and lots of good napping grass...And hiking....
After his mom passed last year we still decided it was important to spend time together as a family and celebrate the life they created for all of us. It was so fun for the kids to make memories with the cousins, especially in such a beautiful setting. It was so nice to be free of most responsibilities every day. I am so thankful we get to be part of this family and we got to have this time at this camp.

Safety Town for Faye

I love that our town has great summer programs....actually great recreation programs at any time of year. One that all of my kids have gone to (except Creed because he's not old enough) is called Safety Town. They talk about all kinds of safety-bikes, Internet, stranger danger, fires, etc...It is super fun when all the kids get to crawl through the fire RV that they fill with fake smoke and escape. And they are champs at stop drop and roll by the end of the day. The camp lasts for a week for a few hours each day and at the end they sang a song and graduated. It was really fun to see Jocelyn-she acted more like a big kid with all the other kids and she just seemed to have really grown up a lot lately...She is such a happy go lucky kid. I am thankful to call her mine and thankful that hopefully she knows how to be safer now....without being scared of dangers...

Jocelyn with officer "friendly" I don't actually know what his name was but Jocelyn called him officer friendly and was always happy to see him...

Man I love those little freckles...actually I love that whole face.
