Halloween at our house this year was awesome. There were class parties, neighborhood bbqs, and lots of trick or treating. Creed chose out his Batman costume about three months early at Costco. He was really excited about it and he rocked the look. At preschool they had a party and trunk or treat. It was kind of sad to think that this is the last preschool truck or treat our family will have.
The Elementary school had a costume parade that is always so fun to watch. Jocelyn wanted to be catgirl and Taryn was an evil poddle skirt girl (her own creation). While I helped out with Jocelyn's class and Taryn's class party Creed played with Grandma. At Jocelyn's class party we had stations and fun games like bingo and don't eat pete. I also made vampire doughnuts that were a big hit.
Taryn's class had a Harry Potter theme going on. They had a full on Harry Potter day the day before. For her class party we did a tri-wizard tournament. First the kids had a photoscavenger hunt around the school. They had to follow the spiders (spider rings and clues) around the school and take a picture with all the people in their house. The first team back got points for their house. The next challenge was berty bots every flavor bean game. The kids had to successfully eat one of every color of jelly beans and the flavor could be grass or lime, coconut or sour milk. The faces the kids made were golden and no one threw up...The last station was a potions making (soda a vinegar) and quidditch obstical course thing... The mom in charge of treats made an awesome drink of polyjuice potion. Basically it was the awesomest party ever...
Cami dressed up like a biker chick for school but we told her she was too old to trick or treat this year and she had graduated to candy passer outer...She wasn't sure this was a promotion until she started handing out the treats one for them one for her....Then she realized it wasn't really a bad gig. After she was candied out she went to the neighbor girls house and watched a movie.
That evening we went to the annual neighborhood hotdog party. It was great and chill and fun. And the perfect pre trick or treating activity. Brent then busted out the trick or treating and Cami and I handed out candy.
