Broken Arm?

So we have WWF in the living room pretty much every Sunday night. The kids are done being reverent and they are so ready to rumble. Well a few weeks ago the rumble got a little rough...Jocelyn got stuck behind the love sac and Taryn went to help her out. Unfortunately Taryn was laying down on the love sack and had to twist her arm to pull her up. Immediately there was screaming action which is unusual for Jocelyn. Of all our kids she is the one most likely to take a hit and keep going strong. 

So I picked her up and loved on her and she didn't settle down for over two hours...She was also guarding her arm and wouldn't even wiggle her pinkie let alone move her arm. We gave it some time and went for a walk but on the way home we stopped at the neighbors house (orthopedist)....He said give it a night and bring her in tomorrow if she is still guarding it....

During the night I went into check on her and the slightest touch on her arm brought on delirious tears. When Brent helped her get out of bed in the morning she wouldn't use it at all (like she wouldn't even move to sit up and called Brent to come and get her out of bed). So in we went for our first family xray...

Her arm was to swollen to tell if there was a break (not unusual in a kid this age because there's still so much cartilage action instead of bone action) or not so we got a partial cast-cast on the bottom padding all around then an ace bandage wrap. It was enough to immobilize and protect while allowing room for the swelling...

After half the week she began wiggling fingers and by the weekend she was putting some pressure and weight on it again. When Taryn sprayed it with the hose a week later and it was falling off we visited the neighbor again. We got the cast off and decided to watch and see if she would use the arm since she had almost full motion back. If she wouldn't use it we would have to recast and rexray. But luckily she was all good after a day or so. So maybe it was broken but it was probably just a bad sprain...

So sad for everyone but she was a good sport and we love this little girl so much! (Of course I can't say little girl out loud or she will correct me that she is a BIG girl...) 

This is the before while we waited for xray results...notice her poor arm is just dangling there even when Brent is trying to give her gum. Usually the offer of gum would have the power to get her to move mountains.-I guess not when her arm is wounded. The second picture is the after after picture since we didn't take one at the Dr office we took one when we were about to take it off (yes on Easter....It is a bummer to try to open Easter eggs one handed.)
